THE AESTHETIC CONSULT
The Aesthetic Consult
When it comes to delivering an aesthetically pleasing result, there are two things that distinguish a good cosmetic clinician from an average one:
- A natural aesthetic sense for facial symmetry (something that comes naturally and cannot be taught).
- The ability to devise the right procedure to address the issue (something that comes with training and experience).
We specialise in providing personalised cosmetic makeovers using the latest techniques in cosmetic medicine. The process begins with an unhurried consultation where we identify what exactly you would like to achieve and how that may best be done. We believe that cosmetic treatments should be a pleasurable experience, with minimum discomfort and downtime, at the best possible price.
There are 4 key points that determine the choice of procedures we may combine to achieve the desired results:
- Your Primary Concern
- Your Expectation i.e the results that you wish to achieve
- Your Social Downtime i.e how much time you can take off work
We utilise state-of-the-art computerised technology to guide our patients through the initial consultation and decision-making process.
Analysis Of The Aging Face
The face is the focal point of human beauty. Although various factors influence facial beauty, the aging process is the most common aspect prompting surgical intervention. As one ages, changes can be observed in all facial anatomical compartments including:
- Subcutaneous Fat
- Fascia and Ligaments
Successful rejuvenation of the face requires a thorough understanding of age related contour and textural changes. An individualized treatment plan designed to minimize surgical risk is essential. The goal is a youthful and natural post-operative result. A systemic evaluation should include:
- The Degree of Photo-aging
- Pigmentary Changes
- Elasticity Loss
- Soft tissue Volume Loss
- Gravitational Sagging
- Changes in Muscles and Ligaments
- Resorption and Remodelling of Facial Bones
Three-dimensional Face Analysis
For patients considering facial makeover procedures like mini facelifts, non-surgical rhinoplasty, soft tissue fillers, thread lifts, assessment of the face from different angles and by taking accurate imaging is important.
Computerized before-and-after simulations are never reliable as has been shown in various studies and sometimes give patients a false sense of comfort. A realistic outcome is best illustrated by showing you before-and-after photographs of other patients who may be “like” you. Furthermore, it is possible to simulate the results you would get from browlifts, upper and lower blepharoplasty and facelift and necklift. Dr. Patel has developed and taught the “Two-finger” simulation test which is 100% reliable in predicting outcomes. We will show you how to perform this in frontof your own mirror at home and show it to your family, if necessary. This will allow you to choose wisely and avoid any unnecessary surprises!!
